If your company offers one, have a full health MOT before leaving.

Remember that for all money purchase pensions how long you are likely to live for determines how much pension they will pay – if you have a shortened life expectancy tell them – you will almost certainly get an improved pension income as a result.

If you are likely to have a shortened life expectancy do use an annuity specialist as many of the providers who offer increased pensions in this area only do so through IFAs.
